On August 23rd 2026, Kids First was so proud to take part in Can Man Dan Foundation's 14th Annual "We're Here for Ya Day," an event supporting underprivileged families as they prepare for the new school year. Prior to the event, we donated school supplies and helped with the packing of supplies. At the event, alongside a amazing team of community partners, we helped distribute backpacks, food hampers, and provided face painting and glitter tattoos to families across Edmonton.

On January 10th, we received over 20 boxes of supplies (binders, notebooks, backpacks, pencil cases, pens, etc.) from the HodgePodge Lodge (HPL)! The HPL is a reuse station that aims to decrease the amount of materials going into landfills by accepting a variety of items that are not easily recycled traditionally and aren't accepted for reuse elsewhere. On December 29, we set up a donation bin at Sri Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Edmonton, making it easier for the community to support children in need!

This Halloween, we celebrated by creating over 150 candy cups to share joy with trick-or-treaters and to support children through donations to the Salvation Army and Children’s Cottage Society.
